It is further important that the correct, full name of the business and the business number is shown on this authorization, this information must be identical with the information shown on the commercial invoice or shipping documents.

This applies to every single shipment and means that, even if you did set up an account with FedEx already, you must provide them (just one time, so that it is in your account records) the PDF-document Power of Attorney – POA. Failure to provide the required information will result in clearance delays. Please be advised that in such cases if no response is received within 5 business days, FedEx may, at our discretion, return the shipment to sender or surrender the shipment to the US Border Services Agency as unclaimed goods.
The provided document is the only way to authorize FedEx permanently to act as your broker, it is not established with the setup of an account.
Canada Border Services Agency (“CBSA”) will only process a shipment and release it if they have a specific authorization, provided and signed by the recipient.
It requires that you provide (just one time, so that it is in your account records) the General Agency Agreement (GAA) document, this applies to every single shipment. It will allow FedEx to clear the shipment through Canada Border Services Agency on your behalf.

- The correct business name of your practice, address
- Business number
- Tax-ID
- FedEx account number
